Name: Lark Grier
Age: 23 years old
Gender: Female

History: Lark grew up in a small village near the Abundant Shrine. Her family were simple farmers that did their part with producing food for the kingdom, and Lark spent many hours out in the field. As a child, her mother made her a stuffed teddiursa which she took everywhere she went. This was the start of her passion for bear pokemon and looked forward to the day she would catch her own. Not knowing the nature of Ursaring and their young, Lark confronted the large pokemon with hope of befriending one, only to be attacked and chased away. This didn't stop her, though, and she returned many, many times. Since she didn't have any pokemon to fight for her, she learned how to climb trees and cliffs and she learned fast.

Many years passed and Lark tried various way to obtain a teddiursa, everything from trying to feed the mothers to even wrestling them. Since all of the tactics ended with her up in the branches, Lark developed relationships with bird pokemon. Mira, who was a hoothoot at the time, rescued Lark from persisting ursarings by pecking at their face while she made her escape to another tree. Lark never gave up her quest for a teddiursa, but even her determination began to waver. During one of her hikes up, she discovered an egg abandoned at the base of the rocky area they tended to nest in. It seemed to be smaller than normal, but when Pontus hatched, he seemed to be the same size as the other teddiursa.

Despite not having much to do with the ongoing war, Lark was not blind to the changes to the country around her. The forests she grew up in receded as resources were needed for weapons, and even her family struggled as their crops were sent to feed soldiers on the border. It took some convincing but she talked her mother and father into letting her apply for the rangers, deciding it was time for her to do her part in stopping the war.

Personality: The simplest way to describe her is stubborn beyond all belief. Once she has a task in mind, she'll do anything to see it finished, whether or not it puts her in danger. She has a hard time working with other people, not because she dislikes them, but rather does not know their limits and does not want to accidentally push them too far. She also has a very difficult time admitting she's at fault should something go wrong, even if all the facts prove otherwise.upcoming battles.

Despite this, she is over protective of her team. Actually knowing where they stand skill wise, she will pull out of a battle if any of her pokemon are at serious risk with the use of Marco's mist attack as a cover.

Lark is very family oriented. Since leaving to join the rangers, she has recieved letters from her family almost every week. Each members tends to write one, though her youngest siblings, Isaac and Maria, have help from their parents as they don't know how to write. Lark is closest to Maria and her father, but misses them dearly and looks forward for a chance to see them again. Because of her siblings though, she views anyone under the age of 17, her sister Silvia's age, as a child and is strongly against hurting them.

After the incident at the moor with Mirela, Lark has become even more vocal and disapproving of children fighting in any upcoming battles.

Misc:
- She spends most of her time in high places, and is perfectly comfortable with holding conversations in trees with people on the ground.
- When tree or cliff climbing, she slings her boots over her shoulders, keeping them tied together and under her arm with the shoelaces.
- Has a serious obsession with bear pokemon, and often cuddles with Pontus when sleeping.
- Her only true weapon is a 6 inch knife that is usually used cut and gather supplies. She is quite the wrestler as well, but usually uses her pokemon more than anything in a fight.
- Has more scars that she can count, mostly from falling and Ursaring claws

Pokemon:

Mira the Noctowl (Female) - Mira was Lark's first pokemon friend, often defending her from Ursaring attacks even before she was caught officially. She looks over Marco and Pontus when Lark is busy to make sure the two don't get into trouble. Mira is Lark's best trained pokemon; the loyal Noctowl will very rarely disobey her, and has almost complete control over her abilities.
Marco the Wingull (Male) - Marco knows he's special and tends to flaunt it. He has a habit of following or stealing shiny objects that he thinks will make him look even more dazzling. Lark keeps him in his ball the most since he tends to wander off. His only reasoning to stick around is Mira scares the crap out of him and has no desire to be hunted down by her.
Pontus the Teddiursa (Male) - Pontus is no doubt Lark's spoiled child. Pontus, since evolving, has the tendency to try and sit on her lap as he did as a Teddiursa, only to either fall off or start to squish her. He's also become a land mount
Kilmeny the Vullaby (Female) - Kilmeny was discovered by Lark after the race across the Waste. She heard the cry of the abandoned bird when making her way back to the forest. Since the raid at the moor, Kilmeny has grown and shed the shell. She has use of her legs, but still cannot fly.

((I swear Lark's name was picked out before I decided that she'd be a bird trainer, and didn't realize the connection until everything else had been developed. I will everything post a scar chart since she has quite a few and you can't really see them in the app.))

She has three younger siblings and Pontus might as well be a child, so she has experience with them as well as enjoys their company (as long as they're not too bratty) :)

Okie dokie, then. Thanks! I don't want Lark to be out of character...so I'm trying to think up questions. Satu's her opponent in this round, and I'd like to do a good job of portraying her.

Same goes for Satu! I really hate getting someone's character wrong, so I hope you don't mind me occasionally dropping questions about her and her team.

Congrats to you too! I thought your prelim comic was great. Also I find it mildly amusing that we both have a teammate named Mira c:

Honestly I can't remember. I think it was the 'pick a letter and list off random names/words until one sounds good' method. Because I'm well organized like that XD
